Salt Fork Watershed Committee

The Champaign County Soil and Water Conservation District works with the Salt Fork River Watershed Implementation Committee to protect and monitor water quality in the surrounding areas. By securing adequate funding from local sources, the Committee was able to restart a USGS gaging station that was previously slated to close.

Grant funding secured by the Committee will also go toward studying nutrient runoff and social factors that influence Salt Fork residents to implement Best Management Practices that improve water quality.
