Tool Shed Meeting with Dr. Armstrong

Join CCSWCD for the first field day in this series on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm!

This tool shed meeting will feature Dr. Shalamar Armstrong, an environmental soil scientist and associate professor in the Department of Agronomy at Purdue University. His research investigates the impacts of nutrient and soil loss reduction practices within conventional and alternative cropping systems.

Dr. Armstrong will share his research results on how planting cover crops can influence nitrogen uptake, increase corn yield, and improve water quality. Dr. Roth, a postdoc in Armstrong’s lab, will also discuss cereal rye performance and nutrient concentration changes with biomass level.

Lunch will be provided. Contact Erin Gundy at (815) 317-6410 or to learn more and RSVP.
